It comes as no great surprise, given our unboxing video and hands-on with the new PMP is already live, but Microsoft have officially announced the Zune HD. Â As well as reconfirming the specs we’ve already heard – NVIDIA Tegra processor, 720p HD playback, OLED multitouch touchscreen and either 16GB or 32GB of storage – Microsoft have also revealed that yes, the Zune HD will play 3D games such as Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition and Audiosurf Tilt together with getting Twitter and Facebook clients later in 2009.

If you’ve ever been tempted by a touchscreen kitchen PC, but can’t afford the high prices most off-the-shelf units command, then sidekick-x’s nifty Eee PC hack may fit the bill. The CinemaTube has gone up for pre-order today. It’s a media player that connects to your tv, and gives you the ability to watch stored movies, pictures, and other videos right from the box. No longer have to worry about physical media anymore, just in case you were one of those people who thought that the way of the disk was for dinosaurs. Media is going the digital way, and Brite-View wants you to get there in the high definition way.

Western Digital have announced their newest compact media player, the WD TV Mini Media Player, which replaces last year’s unit with the same name. Â A palm-sized box with 1080i HD resolution support and the ability to play content both from an attached USB hard-drive including RealNetworks’ RealVideo support, the WD TV Mini offers image, audio and video playback complete with a remote control.
Unlike other media players we’ve seen, however, the WD TV Mini doesn’t offer an HDMI port. Â Instead you get a choice of component or composite, together with a single USB 2.0 for your hard-drive and an optical digital output.
