Critic's choice: This week

Musical theater gets a salute on "Aliens in America" (7:30 p.m., WUCW, Ch. 23), in which Justin (Dan Byrd) ends up playing opposite his mother (the delightful Amy Pietz) in a local production of "Rent." Despite the Oedipal ramifications, Justin does not -- we repeat not -- blind himself during the closing credits, although I'm sure it probably crossed his mind....
