  Doom 4 Annouced

  The landmark Doom franchise is getting a new game in the series according to an announcement made today by id Software. The company revealed that Doom 4 is in production and that it is looking to hire talent to work on the game. It's unusual to basically reveal the existence of a game through basically a help-wanted ad; normally publishers like to trumpet the announcement.

  Hail to the Chimp delayed to mid-June

  Wideload's Hail to the Chimp party game has been pushed back from a scheduled May 27 release date into "mid-June," a Gamecock representative told us this morning. The publisher attributed the short delay to a need for "polish" (working with animals can get dirty, after all), though we wonder if the extra weeks aren't equally necessary to generate some excitement for a campaign, which to date, has received little coverage. Ape or not, a politician's success relies on the strength of a savvy marketing team.

  Mario Kart Wii

  It was some time coming, but the long standing Nintendo racing institution has finally made it to the Wii. With several less than inspiring versions throughout the years, it will be reassuring for Mario Kart fans to hear that the latest incarnation has recaptured the magic that made this one of the most successful franchises ever made.

  GTA IV Review

  Is it too early to say that we're beginning to see a pattern develop here? We know that a mere handful of reviews for Rockstar's latest opus have been published, but should the current trend continue, Grand Theft Auto IV could be the subject of more perfect scores than 1976 Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci. Yes, IGN recently dropped the suspiciously non-embargoed first online review for the title, giving it a 10 out of 10 (on both platforms) and evoking the wrath of the Nintendo Defense Force, calling GTA IV "the best game since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."
